Dromia is a written story/project I’ve been picking at since 2020. I decided to run with the speculation on “what would non-avian dinosaurs be like if they didn’t all die out”, but also throwing in a fun narrative and… magic and necromancers? Because why not?
The premise has dromeosaur descendants (“raptors”) called Dromians forming their own societies. We follow a Dromian named Firefly as she gets tangled into cults, necromancers, and death gods. She also runs into another Dromian, No-Tail, on her own quest, to destroy said cults and necromancers.
There is some spec-evo in the world building, with some “evolved” dinosaurs. This ended up being mostly background flavour in the story itself.
Presently the story is in a bit of limbo. The first “draft” is complete, and ideally I’d love to release this as an illustrated novel, but I need to conquer something else first: my crippling insecurities over my prose writing.
I wrote more on Dromia and its worldbuilding in a couple blog posts, you can view the tag for it here.
